Grow Wild Workshop!

I'm so excited to announce that I'll be speaking as part of a line up of wildly talented and creative business folks at the Grow Wild Workshop hosted by Violet Tinder Studios! To be honest, public speaking is not my favorite but I'm warming up to it because I realized how important it is for me to stand up, tell my story, and be seen as a woman of color artist & entrepreneur. While I never think of myself as a woman of color first, I know how important it is to be out here representing. As Marian Edelman Wright said, "You can't be what you can't see."

That being said, it's not something I'm planning on doing a lot (after all, if you're out there talking the talk, you don't have time to be in the studio walking the walk, and I have a lot more work to make!) – but I am very excited for this opportunity to speak to a small group for this very inspiring and beautiful event!

So if you've ever wanted to hear me talk about my career, answer your very specific questions, and talk shop in general – please come! Tickets are on sale TODAY, space is VERY limited, and the prices go up to their full price in a week!

April Artist in Residence at Wonderground Gallery

This year has been flying by in such a whirlwind! I just wanted to pop in to say THANK YOU so much to every one of you who made it out to see me during my residency at the Wonderground Gallery in Downtown Disney! I had so much fun painting Disney princesses, signing your artwork, and chatting with so many of you. And maybe a little too much fun dressing up every weekend too – since it is one of my favorite things to do and my dogs don't get too impressed when I dress up to work in my studio.

(The photo above was taken during Dapper Day, where I was Disney-bounding as my favorite minor Disney character Clarice Chipmunk!)

Also super excited to share that my first official Disney pieces debuted in April as well! The original paintings for "The Girl with Fins" and "Dressed in Dreams" have already sold, but the original "Centaurettes in Bloom", along with all the canvas giclées, deluxe prints, postcards, and even COMPACT MIRRORS are available in Wonderground now!

Fun fact: "Centaurettes in Bloom" is framed in an exclusive Club 33 frame.

It was an incredible April, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to share my work with Disney and all of you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support.

April Artisan of the Month at Wonderground!

Hi friends! Happy April! I'm so excited to share that I am the Featured Artisan of the Month at Wonderground Gallery in the Downtown Disney® District at the Disneyland Resort! They are featuring a wide selection of my prints and greeting cards all month long in the gallery.

I made my first weekend appearance this past weekend. Thank you so much to everyone who came out and met me down there! It was a pleasure to meet so many new people who found my work for the first time.

I'll be making two more weekend appearances for signings at the end of April:
Saturday April 23 and Sunday April 24, from 2–5 p.m.
Saturday April 30, from 12–3 p.m., and Sunday May 1, from 2–5 p.m.

Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events! That last weekend is Dapper Day weekend, so come on down in your Dapper Day best, I would love to see ya!

More info about the events can be found here on Disney's website.

WonderCon 2016!

Yay! It's that time of year again! My husband Ryan and I will be tabling at Wondercon, happening this month on March 25 – 27! You can find us in the Dealers Section at table DL55, as indicated in the handy map above. I'll have a bunch of new prints debuting at the show, along with a few mini originals, Easter egg sample surprises, and brand new enamel pins including two limited edition mermaids!

This is one of our favorite shows of the year, so I hope to see you there!

California Love Art Show

Hello! I wanted to share three new pieces I painted recently that are debuting in the California Love group art show curated by SupahCute, opening this weekend at Leanna Lin's Wonderland in Eagle Rock, California.

The theme is open-ended to anything we love about this golden state of ours, and as a born and raised native Californian, I had a lot of ideas. I decided to narrow it down to showcasing all the amazing, diverse landscapes we have in California – I love being able to be at the beach, the desert, and the mountains in the same day. I love that our forests are so diverse that there are lush citrus orchards in the south and big, majestic redwoods in the north. So without further adieu, I present: Flora in the Forest (above), Betty on the Beach (below), and Dottie in the Desert (bottom).

All the paintings will be available for viewing (and sale!) at the show opening this Saturday, March 5th and will feature work from a bunch of awesome other artists. Hope to see you there!

You're Invited: Galentine's Day Party!

Hello friends!

I'm excited to share that I'll be part of a Galentine's Day Party pop-up shop graciously hosted by the adorable Shout and About in Echo Park! I'll have a selection of my art prints and greeting cards, in addition to my new pins (separate post coming soon on that!), and thirty original mini paintings from my #30for30facesbyann series. Hopefully you find one that looks just like you, your bestie, or your inner self, so that you can pick one up!

As part of this super special event, I'm also taking on live paintings for the first time! I'll be taking a VERY limited number of custom orders for original miniature portraits (approximately 2.5x3.5") and painting them on site for pick up by the end of the event.

If you're interested in a custom painting, please make sure to come early! It will be first come, first serve. There will be a sign up list, there's a limit of 2 per person. Please bring a couple reference photos on your phone of the portraits you'd like done. Humans only this time! Once you've secured a spot and paid, you'll send me your photos, I'll paint em while you shop, and then you'll take it home with you that day!

My good friend Sara of Matchbox Kitchen will also be there, offering beautiful ombre mini-cakes and chocolate gems, and Kat of Iris + Daughter will be there selling perfect little bouquets and larger arrangements so that you can TREAT YO' SELF or your best galentines! (Or, wink wink, get ready for Valentine's Day!) And as always, Shout and About will have the cutest selection of gift goods this side of the L.A. river.

Here are the event details, hope to see you there!

Wonderground Gallery!

I'm SO excited to share that some of my best girls and I are heading to Wonderground Gallery in the Downtown Disney® District at Disneyland next month! Mark your calendars for January 16 & 17 (first long weekend of the year, thanks to Dr. & Mrs. King!). I'll be featured in the Artist Showcase that weekend, and will be there in person for signings 1 to 4 p.m. each afternoon.

This is a big life dream come true for me; I've been a fan of the gallery since it opened in 2012 and I can't leave without picking up something from there so I'm incredibly honored to be a part of it. Hope to meet ya there!
